Research & innovation in LTA BOOST
Overall, LTA BOOST will develop Low Trophic species Aquaculture (LTA) in Denmark for flat oyster and dulse.
Primary objectives
The primary objectives of the LTA BOOST project are to:
- Upscale flat oyster production through production of disease-free spat in the hatchery and new grow out methods.
- Optimize production of microalgae targeted to bivalve hatchery conditions.
- Upscale dulse production by improving spore availability and new grow out methods.
- Develop optimized biosecurity and water quality systems to support hatchery production of seed.
- Increase awareness of the sustainability and product quality of LTA.
Duration
The project runs over a period of four years from 2023-2027.
